Barnes Community Players

The Barnes Community Players is a flourishing and local theatrical group from Barnes and surrounding areas. All profits are donated to charities, which this year are the local branch of the Sea Cadets and the Orange Tree Educational Trust.

They currently stage three shows each year, two at the Kitson Hall and one at the Old Sorting Office Arts Centre. They also organise workshops and theatre outings, parties and events. They are a friendly and social group and are often to be found at the pub after rehearsals!

They are always looking for new members to join the group, either as actors or as part of the production team and they welcome people of all ages.

There are a range of talents within the group and in the past few years they have tackled a variety of productions including musicals, modern and classical plays and pantomimes. Recently, members of the Players have been nominated for and won a number of awards from Richmond Arts Council.

Formerly known as the Barnes Charity Players, an important part of their mission is to donate funds each year to charity. Since 2000 they have contributed £25,000 to local charities, including schools and community centres.
