Ladbrokes plans cause protest

Bookmakers Ladbrokes are making plans to move into two prime Barnes sites - the old HSBC premises at the corner of Church Road and Elm Grove Road, and another site on The Broadway at the corner of White Hart Lane.

Application The HSBC site already has A2 status which means Ladbrokes can move in without planning permission. They do however need permission for structural alterations and signage and they need to apply for a gaming licence for the premises. At White Hart Lane the company needs to apply both for change of use and a gaming licence. The deadline for objections to the planning committee for the structural changes to the HSBC site is this Friday, July 5 and you can click here for a link to the application on the Richmond Council website. The deadline for objections for change of use of the White Hart Lane site is July 23.
